Seagraves & Dixon was formed 10 years ago when husband and wife team Kelvin and Helena Kate Dixon took over the business of ‘Seagraves Electricals’ which had traded in the town for over 20 years.
During this time, the shop has developed from a contract electrical company into the independent specialist lighting store you see today. Our large and loyal customer base is testament to the ethos of the business in supplying the right products at the right price and going the extra mile to ensure the service you receive is second to none. At Seagraves & Dixon, our main priority is you, the customer.
We pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service; we want to make your experience as enjoyable and straightforward as possible. With a warm and friendly atmosphere, we are passionate not only about our products, but about the town in which we live and whilst we may be a little biased, we feel that our business is more than just a shop.
Customer service and quality products are what drive us and our business and ultimately, we’re lucky enough
to love what we do!
Kelvin has worked within the lighting and electrical retail sector for over 35 years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Kelvin’s product knowledge and passion for customer service are what set Seagraves & Dixon apart from its competitors, with his truly personal approach. Kelvin was President of the Penrith Chamber of Trade & Commerce for 2 years and was also heavily involved with the formation of a Business Improvement District for Penrith.
Kate originates from The Wirral and having trained in catering, went on to work in both England and Sweden. When first in Penrith, Kate ran St. Andrews Coffee Shop before deciding to have a family. Since starting Seagraves & Dixon, Kate does most of the ordering in the shop and enjoys hunting down those hard to find bulbs that people ask for!
With over 40 years of experience between them, our staff are the cornerstone of our business. Carol, Catherine and Gillian all believe in giving high levels of customer service and advice whilst maintaining the welcoming and friendly atmosphere within the shop. The shop wouldn’t be the same without them!
